Lautaro Mura Fuentealba, Conductor
Lautaro Mura Fuentealba was born in Santiago de Chile and studied composition with Cirilo Vile and orchestral conducting with David del Piano Klinge at the University of Chile.
He was a finalist of the Atlantic Coast International Conducting Competition in Portugal (2015) and won the First Prize at the Master Course & Competition in Graz in 2014. Lautaro Mura is currently music director of Concerto Langenfeld and of the Kommas Ensemble, a group focused on the performance and dissemination of contemporary music founded in Cologne, Germany, in 2015.
Lautaro Mura has conducted the Savaria Symphony Orchestra (Hungary), the Symphony Orchestra of Satu Mare (Romania) and the orchestras of the Robert Schumann Music Academy in Düsseldorf, the Bergische Symphoniker and the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen (Germany), among others. He has participated in several master classes such as Kritisches Orchester Berlin, Järvi International Winter Academy, Bartók Seminar & Festival and International Master Class Berlin, with prominent conductors and teachers such as Helmuth Rilling, Lothar Zagrosek, Colin Metters, Kenneth Kiesler and Lutz Köhler.
In Chile he has appeared as a guest with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Concepcion, the Symphony Orchestra of La Serena and others. He was chief conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Rancagua. He has been assistant conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of Rosario, the USACH Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Faculty of Arts (OFA) and the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Caracas, joining the latter on a tour to Germany and Croatia in 2008.
Recently Lautaro Mura Fuentealba has been awarded his master degree in orchestral conducting with the highest distinction, having studied under the guidance of Rüdiger Bohn at the Robert Schumann Music Academy Düsseldorf.
