Megumi Nakajima, Oboe
Megumi Nakajima is a Japanese oboist who graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo in 2013. Afterwards she studied contemporary music research with Yasuaki Itakura at the Shobi College of Music and participated in various events focusing on wind quintets. In 2016 she enrolled at the University of the Arts in Zurich, where she studied repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary music with Thomas Indermühle, graduating with a master’s degree in performance in 2018. Afterwards, she began an intense course of study of contemporary music with Jaime González, graduating with a master’s degree in specialized music performance (post-graduate degree in New Music) from the University of the Arts in Berne in 2023. Currently she plays mainly solo works and chamber music by composers of contemporary music, but also performs free improvisation and electronic works.
