Pablo Piñeiro Mundín, Clarinet
Pablo Piñeiro was born in the small village of Bueu (Galicia, Spain) in 1992 and began to play the clarinet at the age of 10, studying with Antonio Budiño and Iván Maia. Under the tutelage of Felipe Agell, he finished his professional degree in 2012, obtaining a special prize. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Musikene (San Sebastián) in 2016 under the teaching of José Luis Estellés, Anthony Pay, Henri Bok and Sergio Barranco. After that, he studied for his master's degree in clarinet performance with Joan Enric Lluna at ESMUC (Barcelona) and began his studies of orchestral performance with Urban Claesson at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Pablo Piñeiro won the honorific prize at the David Russell Honorific Competition in 2014. He participated in the academy of the Granada Orchestra between 2015 and 2017 and won the 3rd prize in the international wind instrument competition “Terras de la Salette” (Portugal) in 2019.
Between 2019 and 2023 he has been teaching clarinet and chamber music in the High School of Music of Navarra (Spain). At the same time, he has been taking bass clarinet lessons with Carlos Gálvez Taroncher.
Pablo Piñeiro has participated in different festivals, such as the Ciutat d’Alcudia Clarinet Festival, the Festival After Cage and Los Encuentros de Pamplona 72-22. He has played with the Banda de Música de Pontevedra, Banda Municipal de Santiago de Compostela, Banda Sinfónica Galega, Ensemble Galería, Orquesta Vigo 430, Jönköping Symphony and Colectivo E7.2.
