Albert Kuchinski, cello
Albert Kuchinski, born in Paris in 2002, began playing the cello at the age of six. After studying with Thomas Duran, since 2020 he has continued his studies for a Master’s degree in the class of Marc Coppey at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP). He has had the opportunity to receive advice from renowned cellists such as François Salque, Philippe Muller, Louis Rodde, and Lluis Claret during master classes, while also participating in numerous festivals in France and abroad, including the Festival Présences de Radio France (2022), the Festival de la Chaise Dieu (2023), and the Festival Ravel (2024). In 2020, Albert Kuchinski co-founded the Trio Luminescence with violinist Raphaël Garac and pianist Sophie Boucheau. The trio has studied with the Trio Wanderer and was in residence at the Festival de la Chaise Dieu in 2023, where they performed alongside musicians such as Pierre Fouchenneret, Lise Berthaud, and Romain Descharmes. The trio is regularly invited to perform. Albert Kuchinski performs in various ensembles, ranging from small chamber groups to symphony orchestras. He is regularly invited to play with prestigious orchestras such as the Opéra National de Paris, the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, and the Orchestre de Paris. He frequently collaborates with young composers and performs works by major figures in contemporary music, including Tristan Murail, Frédéric Durieux, Gérard Pesson, Philippe Manoury, Unsuk Chin, and Steve Reich, both as a soloist and in ensembles.
