Jakob Yago Mut-Steinsiek, bassoon
Jakob Yago Mut-Steinsiek was born in Kolbermoor in Germany. He started playing the bassoon at the age of nine and took his first lessons with Peter Slowioczek and Ralf Müller. In 2012, he began studying with Philipp Tutzer at the Anton Bruckner University and later at the Leopold Mozart Centre in Augsburg with Karsten Nagel. He has participated in master classes with Dag Jensen, Eckard Hübner and others. Currently Jakob Yago-Mut Steinsiek works as a teacher and freelance musician; he has played at the State Theatre of Lower Bavaria and with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. An important part of his work is chamber music in varying formations. The focus of his work is on contemporary solo and chamber music. One of his goals is to make this music more understandable and accessible for listeners. He has played concerts in Russia and Austria, among others.
