The International Ensemble Modern Academy Turns 20

20 years ago, Ensemble Modern decided to consolidate its various education programmes under the auspices of the International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA), seeking to share its treasure-trove of experience with the next generation. During the Anniversary Concert on December 15, 2023, at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Ensemble Modern and the current IEMA-Ensemble 2023/24 perform together under the baton of Jonathan Stockhammer and the IEMA conductor Raimonda Skabeikaitė, playing two world premieres by Yongbom Lee and Chikage Imai as well as works by Hans Zender, Friedrich Goldmann and Kathrin A. Denner. IEMA graduates Rike Huy and Zacharias Faßhauer will guide the audience through the evening. After the concert, a get-together at the Clara Schumann Foyer offers a chance to meet the evening’s performers.
